IMPORTING CUSTOMERS/DEBTORS

The MLE box at the top of the screen must contain CUSTOMER or CUSTOMER,CASH

The former will create customers that are regular debtors (to whom purchases can be charged), while the latter will create the customers as ‘cash’ accounts. Do not press the TAB or the Enter key after you enter the above – use the mouse instead.

The input data record must be comma delimited, with character fields being optionally enclosed with single or double quotes. The following, therefore, are all valid:

Worthington-Smith
‘Worthington-Smith’
“Worthington-Smith”

If the name contains an apostrophe (i.e. a single quote) then you must enclose the field within double quotes, e.g.: “Joe’s Bookshop”

In the record description below, trailing commas (for blank fields) are not required.
